#00075 - Friendships & Meme
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned since high school is figuring out that friendships change. The person you’ve been friends with your entire life may not be that great of a friend after all. You grow apart, things in life change that causes your interests to change, and suddenly you’re left begging for attention. Then you finally come to terms with it and you’re happy again. It’s not worth being miserable and anti-social because a friendship has changed so much you rarely talk anymore. Lately I’ve found myself becoming closer to people who actually CARE about me and my day to day life. People who ASK me to hang out, those who care about what I had for dinner last night, or even simple as those who text just to say hey.
I’m huge on accountability and really value a friendship where there is no effort to be friends. The instant you see that person your day brightens, and you smile. The person you think of while they’re a their scheduled party or dinner that they had been explaining to you all day beforehand. I have few people in my life who I can call and at the drop of a pin they’ll be there. On the other hand, I also have friends who refuse to ever pick up their phone whether I’m calling them or hoping to receive a call from them.
I’ve really been evaluating my friendships lately because of the fact that I’ll be engaged soon (NO! Still hasn’t happened!) and will need to decide on people for the wedding party within the next year. I’m not making any decisions for at least a year before the wedding because things change. People change. And if I’ve learned one thing in life, it’s Friendships Change. What do you value in a friendship?
On another note, Tashina tagged me for a cute meme. So, I’ll end my thought for the day with that.
How to play : Once you’ve been tagged you have to write a blog with 10 weird, random facts, habits, or goals about yourself — at the end choose 5 people to be tagged. Don’t forget to leave them a comment saying “You’re It!” and to go read your blog. You cannot tag the person that tagged you.
- I could live, eat, and breathe Chicken Wings. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. Weekly I have a wing date with some girlfriends at Buffalo Wild Wings and on some Sundays after work stop by Wing Stop. I seriously LOVE chicken wings!!
- My other passions besides makeup include writing, human interaction & behavior (Psychology), photography, scrapbooking, reading, and singing.
- I’ve been with my man for almost 7 years, but if I would have never met him I assume I may just already be married and have kids with the guy I dated for a few weeks before him. I don’t believe in one soul mate for each person and I DO believe in divorce, especially if children are involved. I’m just lucky to have found a great man and know that my life will be fulfilled as long as he’s a part of it!
- I was a Tomboy when I was a teen. Until my sophomore year of high school I wore Jncos, huge t-shirts, and sneaks. The makeup, fashion, and girly girl attitude came the summer after my freshman year when suddenly it was important for me to fit in.
- When I was in middle school I learned to play the Cello & Violin and I shared the same band teacher that my dad had when he attended the same middle school 20 years prior! I stopped playing when I got to high school because I thought it was “uncool”. I regret that!
- My father and mother were married at 19&20, had me at 20&21, and divorced at 21&22. I lived with my mother until I was ten then was taken into my fathers custody due to alcohol & drug related issues with my mother. I consider this a blessing because it taught me a lot about life and eventually gave me the push to want to be an addictions therapist.
- I have a puppy named Maya. We had a cat named Maddox (aka Bubba) but he ran away. My dog is a full bread Blue Healer that came from my grandmother, who breeds them, but is the runt and is a bit smaller than most. She’s my baby. However, she seems to love my father more than Mommy!
- I started this blog in hopes of making extra money, because I heard that Tashina was making a good amount from sponsored blogging. But, after starting it, I realized how much I actually do love to blog. Not just for sponsored blogging, but to just be vocal. I love it!
- My all time favorite color is pink. I mean, duh, My hair has been pink!
- I am absolutely so wrapped up in my love life, every possible chance I get to gush about my wonderful man I take completely advantage of. But I also know that not everyone likes hearing about the cheesy things that goes on in my relationship so I usually always gear my conversations towards my company. I’m very accommodating and sometimes too much. But, that’s okay!
Now, I tag all of my newest readers: Miami, Nile, Laarni, Hannah, & Ivy !
lol thx for the tag! XD i’ll make sure to add you on my links list (hey, any fan of mariah - i’m a fan of hehe!) x
